Range practice

A careful way to use AI for range notes

Sample notes on using AI to organize your own observations, without treating it as a coach.

AI is useful at the range when you treat it like a clerk, not a coach. You bring the observations. It helps you arrange them.

Jobs that fit that role:

  • Turn a rough note into a short list you can reread next time.
  • Explain a word you heard, in plain language, which you then check against a source you trust.
  • Draft a checklist of what you wanted to pay attention to, based on goals you wrote yourself.

Jobs that do not fit:

  • Declaring that you improved, or by how much.
  • Inventing a practice plan presented as if it had been tested.
  • Calling a product the best.

ShootersProof will keep that line. A later article may show prompts worth copying. This sample does not include any, because a prompt should be one you actually want to stand behind.

Anything that affects safety still goes through the check on the Safety page.
